Antimicrobial

Pack Innovation has patented a revolutionary formula that exploits the natural silver antimicrobial action without any use of colloidal silver or nano silver, giving a long-lasting effective and unassailable protection. It makes the containers external surfaces free of bacteria and viruses.

From many experiences made in the past from others, it has been noticed that even where the results seemed to be positive, there were found: poor adhesion of the product which reduced in time of few months or partial embrittlement and risk of release of the product in aqueous solutions in the container.

The proposed product (an invisible film forming a layer that act as an ANTIMICROBIAL BARRIER), differs form other existing products because it firmly adheres without time problems and it has a LONG LASTING antimicrobial action. It is also active against bacteria, viruses and fungi.

Thanks to the cooperation with Ferrara University, it has been developed a protective film which can be applied on all solid surfaces, giving its antimicrobial activity for long time, under all environmental conditions and resistant to all the manipulations that could be occurred.

The suggested antimicrobial composition is applied on the container’s external surface and it is adhered by heat treatment and UV irradiation. The procedure is carried out with especially setup proceedings and industrial installations.

This application is advantageous in the manufacture  of sterile and antibacterial pharmaceutical containers and in all medical use. This kind of product is requested in all areas (cosmetic, medical, healthcare, pharmaceutical, veterinary and for community in general) where it is very important to interrupt the infection chain transmission through the manipulation of any container. The container is treated with a particular composition that guarantees an antimicrobial activity and it maintains its mechanical, physical and chemical characteristics. The project’s aim is to develop the process/product and to verify the performances in the industrial process.

The scientific approach of this project is strengthened by a collaboration with the University of Ferrara – Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science and Section of Microbiology of Experimental Medicine and Diagnostic Department.
